an international psychogeography festival is happening by accident.

and top notch entertainment including the debut manchester performance of the fabulous pete green and beautiful acoustica from ed cottam and pudding

nb we'll stop serving food at 9ish so the cafe volunteers can have fun too.

£5 entry - all proceeds to the basement

where are you?

the loiterers resistance movement and friends proudly present a psychogeographical extravaganza

a cornucopia of delights and digressions embracing walks, talks, films, banishments, history, art, magick, the politics of de/re/degeneration, situationism, serendipity,the power and beauty of maps, interesting rubbish and miscellaneous
shenanigans

throughout december the basement (24 Lever Street M1) will host an exhibition of mind blowing maps featuring local artists and highlights from you are here but
why? A free festival of mapping based at the 56a infoshop, london www.56a.org.uk

highlights of the festival will include

O launch night basement fundraiser with food, quiz and entertainment (friday 1 december 7 - late, £5 entry)

O radical history tour (saturday 2 december 2pm meet at the basement, tour will end with an open studio tour at the uhc collective and a chance to view the thin venner of democracy and the opencity project

O A pan pacific international experiment in conjunction with our Australian comrades(sunday 3 december 12 noon, MEET AT THE TILED MAP IN VICTORIA STATION)

O mapping manchester diy day (sunday 3 december 2- 8pm at the basement -films, talks, walks, scissors, paper, glue etc full programme to be announced but roughly:)
2 pm - psychogeography now: tools, techniques and travellers fox tales - a roundtable discussion/ q and a session
3 pm - a very special guest speaker
3.30pm - an urban exploration (wrap up warm for this bit)
5 pm - mapping manchester - DIY techniques from crayons to GPS
6 pm - films (details tbc but expect some surprising views of manchester)

O lunar water walk under the glare of cctv (Tuesday 5 december meet 7pm AT THE CROWN AND ANCHOR)

O manchester music trail with Phil Gatenby, author of Morrissey's Manchester (friday 8 december 1.30 meet at the basement)

O and possibly most spectacular of all: december 21 there will be very special off solstice event: the shaping presents dyschronia MEET 6.30 AT THE BRITONS PROTECTION

more events to be announced soon.... a full festival programme will be available next week at the basement or by asking me nicely
